2017 and the #Festive500
I decided not to go home for Christmas this year. I was just home for Thanksgiving. My family is small, and nearly everyone made it back for the holiday. My grandmother was even there. We moved her from North Carolina to Colorado in August after my grandfather died in March. There I was, surrounded by my grandmother, mom, older sister, step-dad, brother-in-law, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
We ate and drank. It was nice at first. We chatted about life, work, my grandmother's transition, my sister's job, my little sister's ice hockey. We drank more. We chatted about home improvements and retirement. My mom and step-dad want to buy an RV and travel the country together. We drank more. We talked about the Trump presidency, North Korea, the indictment of former NSA advisor Michael ... We drank more.
By the end...
